Spring Travel Soccer Registration is now OPEN!

DATES: End of April to the Beginning of June. 6-8 Weeks of Games.

GAMES: Games will be played on Saturdays for girls and Sunday afternoons for boys & co-ed teams. Our opponents are other Northern Michigan cities travel soccer teams.

LOCATIONS: Travel is typically to Petoskey/Harbor Springs, but depends on the towns that put teams together. The farthest we have travelled is Cadillac.

WHO CAN SIGN UP: Anyone ranging U9 - U14. Travel teams are a step up in the competition and level of play from our rec league and coaches will field the best players to compete in each game. Teams will be formed based how many players we have signed up from each birth year.

COST: $150.00 per player. Scholarships are always available for registration. Uniforms cost approximately $70.00 and can be ordered online when you register.

This year, we are having a Spring Season Kick-Off taking place at Charlevoix High School in the (main) Gym! It takes place on Sunday, February 6th from 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM. This is open to Registered Players AND those thinking about joining our program! Come and meet fellow teammate, coaches, and CYS supporters while you kick around the ball and learn a few skills! **This is a perfect opportunity to ask questions about registration, try on uniforms for sizing, drop off used soccer gear for our donation tub, as well as pick through the donation tub for some new (used) gear!** We encourage all to attend!!

Recreation League Soccer Registration is now Open!

Sign-ups for Rec League Soccer is happening now, through July 24th, 2022. This year's Recreation League runs from late August through the end of September. Your child(rem) will be placed on community-sponsored teams and will have the opportunity to learn the game of soccer from parent volunteers. This year, we are trying something new! One evening per week, we will have the kids & volunteer coaches learn from, and practice with, those who know the ins and outs of the game. The other evening, we will use those learned skills to practice during games! We are hoping that this will foster a better understanding of the game fundamentals from the U6 teams, on up!

The teams are co-ed and take a recreational approach. Team ages run from U-6 to U-14, but we will always make a place for your child who wants to play! Since this is a recreational league, field sizes and number of participants will vary per year. All games are played at Shanahan Field on the north side of Charlevoix. Registration happens through GotSport here: https://system.gotsport.com/programs/Q80597061?reg_role=player. Cost is $45 per player. The last day to register is July 24th, 2022. Late registration fees apply after that date. The season is schedule to begin on August 30th with finals being September 29th. Most coaches choose to do 1-2 practices the week before games start (last week of August).

CHARLEVOIX YOUTH SOCCER SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

Eligibility Requirements, Terms and Instructions Charlevoix Youth Soccer is an active supporter of area youth soccer. We are proud to be part of our area youth’s continuing education in the form of two (2) $500.00 scholarships to be award to graduating seniors who have been a part of our soccer program. Please take the time to read the instructions outlined below before filling out your application. All applications must be received or postmarked by April 30 Eligibility Requirements

1. Graduating seniors must attend high school at Charlevoix High School or Northwest Academy.

2. Participated in the Charlevoix Youth Soccer program for at least four (4) years and played soccer in High School.

3. Be in good academic standing

4. All applicants must submit a fully completed application postmarked by the deadline.

5. Plan to attend a full-time accredited college, university, or technical school in the fall.

Terms of Scholarship 1. Two (2) $500.00 scholarships will be awarded. 2. The scholarship may only be used for tuition, fees, and books. 3. Scholarship recipients will be notified by postal mail and/or email around June 30.

3. Enclose a copy of your student transcript.

4. Enclose at least one (1) letter of recommendation from a non-relative (teacher, employer, etc.)

5. Enclose an essay, with a maximum of 500 words, describing yourself, your community involvement and a brief overview of your experience in Charlevoix Youth Soccer and why you deserve this scholarship.

Note: Incomplete applications are not eligible. Applications will be considered incomplete if any required items are not included.

Award Process Applications will be anonymously reviewed by the Charlevoix Youth Soccer Board. Scholarship recipients will be selected on the basis of scholastic achievement, the essay, community involvement and participation in soccer (not necessarily the order of importance). All information included in the application will be held in strictest confidence.
